I’m getting myself a WWJD Bracelet.  “What would J.P Do…” 🙂

I’m sure you’ve all seen it already, but just in case, here’s the link.  J.P. Hayes is as honest as we like to think we are.

This guy did something that I don’t think many of us would do.  He voluntarily disqualified himself from Q school because he hit a ball that wasn’t the same model ball he started the round with aaaaand the ball he hit was a prototype from Titleist that wasn’t approved for play in the PGA…  Talk about a double whammy…

At first, one would assume he was doing it to cover his keister, just incase it ever leaked out, but that is not the case.  The ball said Titleist on it and looked in every way like the ball he was using, only difference is that there was no label on the “seam” to identify the model.  After the hole, he could’ve just switched it out with another ball.

Would you have done the same thing if you were in his shoes?  In doing so, you would sacrifce how ever many millions you would’ve made all for your principals.  I haven’t quite made up my mind.  I’d like to think so, but saying it and doing it are two totally different things..

I think it’ll work out for him though, he’s pretty happy to take it easy this year and spend some much needed time with the family and he’s getting a lot of positive press from this which will undoubtedly be beneficial during the next few years.

So Mr. Hayes, I salute you! 🙂
