Odyssey Putter Auction to Benefit ALS Research

Time for everyone to dig deep and lend their support.

A friend of mine, Brendon Elliot, the local golf pro out at Winter Park Country Club contacted me and asked me if I’d help spread the word.

He’s put up an ebay auction for a Right Handed, Odyssey White Hot 2-Ball Putter with 100% of the proceeds going to “Driving 4 Life.”

Driving 4 Life is America’s premier fund raising campaign supporting ALS research through the game of golf.

ALS stands for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s disease.  It is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that attacks motor neurons in the brain (upper motor neurons) and spinal cord (lower motor neurons).

Facts about ALS

  • There is no cure for ALS
  • The incidence of ALS is five times higher than Huntington’s disease and about equal to multiple sclerosis.
  • 30,000 people throughout the U.S. currently have ALS, and 8,000 new cases are diagnosed each year.
  • ALS has no prejudice—it occurs worldwide, with no age, ethnic or economic boundaries.

For more information about ALS, visit the ALS Therapy Development Institute.

Odyssey White Hot 2-Ball PutterThe auction runs until December 17th, 2008.

Starting bid is $150.00 with free group shipping to anywhere in the U.S.

Payments are being accepted via PayPal.

Here’s the link to the auction, just in case you missed the one above.

If you are unable to bid or contribute, please help spread the word.

Thanks in advance for your help in supporting this great organization!
