After a grueling battle between three mighty contestants, the winner of the OrlandoGolfBlogger logo contest has been decided.

See below..

The logo was created by freelance graphic designer Sarah Garney, who was referred to me by fellow golf blogger Tony Korologos (hookedongolfblog.com). She’s done a couple golf design projects for him and he highly recommended her work.

If you’re looking to have some design work done, you can contact Sarah by phone at (940) 224-0095 or by email.

Thanks again to everyone who contributed!

Now… how to incorporate the logo into the site… :)

Vote for your favorite OGB logo

Posted by Dave

A couple weeks ago, I sent out an email blast to some folks asking for their participation in the create a logo for OGB contest. I wasn’t very specific on what I wanted other than OGB and the url.

Here’s what they came up with, vote for which logo you like the best.

Voting will be open until 11:59pm on March 12th.

Winner gets bragging rights and some financial compensation. :)

Logo #1

Logo #2

Which Logo is the best?

Happy Birthday Alice!

Posted by Dave

One of my good twitter friends @AliceJam is celebrating her birthday today!

Check out her Happy Birthday Blog Post!

She’s one of the most sports-savvy ladies I know and I’m embarrassed to say, but she’s probably forgotten more about sports than I’ve ever known!

So do me a favor, drop by her blog, take a read, leave a comment and add her to your RSS feeds, she writes great stuff and is a wonderful person to know!

I saw this over at Golf Girl’s Diary.  It’s a time waster called Line Golfer.

You get to design your own golf course and others can play and rate it.

It’s worth checking out, I *highly* recommend trying out some of the courses before attempting to build your own.

It’s not quite what you expect at first and if you jump right in (like I did) you’ll most likely throw your hands up in disgust, uttering un-pleasantries .. :)

I’m going to build one and link to it here for everyone’s playing pleasure :)

It looks like there’s two approaches to the courses, ones they build that are completely automated and ones that you can actually play.

The automated ones are alright, almost like watching a roller coaster but playing some of the courses is what will get you hooked.

If you’re looking to waste a few minutes and you have a creative streak, take a look and tell me what you think :)
