5 Golf Companies you’ve not heard about but should

My buddy John Duval, who writes intothegrain.com posted up his 5 Golf Companies You Have Not Heard Of, I figured it was a good idea, so I came up with some others.

Eidolon Golf

Eidolon Golf makes some of the finest wedges on the market. Their patented V-Sole design combines both high and low bounce in one. The leading edge is angled up, comprising the high bounce edge, which is great for tall grass, deep rough and sand because the aggressive sole angle relative to the ground keeps the club from digging.

The back edges are angled downward, comprising the low bounce edge. Low bounce wedges are designed for optimal performance from fairways and tight lies around the green.

The two edges meet at the bottom of the club, forming the V-Sole these wedges are known for. I’ve played with quite a few wedges in my day and I always end up back with Eidolon. They perform well no matter where you’re hitting from and feel like a dream.

Photo Ball Marker

Photo Ball Marker is a really cool company that, as the name implies makes photo ball markers.. 🙂 It’s a really great idea, since EVERY golfer uses a ball marker and many consider their ball marker something of a good luck charm.

Now you can get a photo of your favorite people, places, or golf blog turned into a 1″ golf ball marker containing a high resolution image protected by a hard epoxy covering with a UV protected finish.

They’re really inexpensive considering you’re getting three and a magnet hat holder. The price is a little under $30 shipped ($24.95 + $4.95 shipping) and they offer a money back guarantee if you’re not completely satisfied with your purchase.

Boccieri Golf

Makers of the Heavy Wedge and Heavy Putter, Boccieri Golf specializes in game improvement clubs that can be utilized on the golf course. These golf clubs have a heavier weight which is designed to engage the larger muscles in the body leading to a smoother golf swing and putting stroke.

They also have a higher balance point, up t0 75% higher than your standard golf club. This higher balance point leads to a more consistent release through impact by eliminating excessive hand and wrist action.

This year at the 2011 PGA Merchandise Show, they unveiled an entire bag of Heavy Clubs, from Driver down to 3-iron, which unfortunately I haven’t had a chance to try out. Presently, they’re right handed only.. Curses on you “wrong-handers!”

Golf Dotz

Golf Dotz is a nifty company that offers a new and different way to mark your ball. Not mark your ball as the afore mentioned Photo Ball Markers, but these little adhesive transfers give you a new and very cool method of identifying your ball.

With Golf Dotz, there’s no need for sharpies or cryptic dot patterns in your golf ball dimples, just fine a design you like and apply it with your thumb. It takes five seconds, requires no special tools and no time to dry! They’re also USGA Complaint, so no need to worry about getting disqualified during your next professional outing..

Last but not least, this is one where John and I are in agreement.

Kikkor Golf Shoes

I love these shoes. I first encountered Kikkor Golf at the 2011 PGA Merchandise show. They’re relatively new to the golf shoe industry, but they’re certainly taking it by storm.

I reviewed a pair of the Black Glacier Tennys and after 8 months, they still look and feel like new. Granted, there is a little wear on the integrated cleats, also known as the Kikkor Diacon Embedded Spike System (DESS).

There is a large and diverse selection of golf shoes available on the website, something for every type of golfer looking for a bit of “cool” in their golf attire.

The shoes are crazy comfortable and designed to be worn on and off the course.

For your peace of mind, they offer free shipping both ways so there’s nothing to worry about if you need to send them back for any reason.

The company founder James Lepp is a former professional Canadian golfer who decided to try his hand as an entrepreneur.

He has posted up a bunch of youtube videos displaying some of the amazing golf shots he’s come up with.

Have a great weekend!
