GOLF DIGEST INTRODUCES FIRST DIGITAL EDITION FOR IPAD

April Masters Issue Marks Golf Digest’s Digital Edition Debut on the iPad

Golf Digest, the foremost authority on how to play, what to play and where to play golf, today introduced its first digital edition for the iPad.

The issue is now available as an in-app purchase from within the Golf Digest app, and you can download the Golf Digest app for free from the iTunes App Store.

The Golf Digest digital edition offers everything the print edition provides along with some remarkable bonus features,” says Golf Digest chairman and editor-in-chief, Jerry Tarde.

Users will get to combine their monthly reading of Golf Digest with video instruction tips from Butch Harmon and David Leadbetter, interactive illustrations of every change to every hole in the history of Augusta National and Jaime Diaz’s analysis of Tiger Woods’ swing.

The free Golf Digest download offers users access to the April edition as an in-app purchase for $4.99.

Bonus features include:

• For the first time ever, users can access nearly 100 interactive illustrations showing every modification that has been made to Augusta National, hole by hole, since the inaugural Masters in 1934. This masterful piece of Augusta architectural history is based on more than 30 years of research by Golf Digest Architecture Editor Ron Whitten.

• Bonus video tips from teaching greats Butch Harmon and David Leadbetter.

• What’s in my bag feature that includes weekly updates of the clubs that were used by the top-10 finishers in PGA Tour events.

• Time-lapse video of Jeffrey Smith illustrating the scene during the ceremonial tee shot at the 2010 Masters.

• Tiger Woods’ full swing sequence from his remarkable 2000 season compared to his swing in February 2011.

• Exclusive video of Tiger Woods’ swing as a 7-year-old.

• Listen to Jack Nicklaus relive the 1986 Masters in audio.

The Golf Digest application is available free from the iTunes App Store.

I don’t know about you but I’m I’m pretty excited about this Ipad app and the new digital issues, if for no other reason than I can finally clear out the piles of Golf Digest magazines that take up space in the “throne room.” 🙂
