Brendon Elliott in the 2010 Top 50 U.S. Kids Teachers

Congratulations to my good friend Brendon Elliott for making it into the 2010 U.S. Kids Golf’s annual list of top 50 kids teachers for distinction in working with youth. According to the website, Brendon is ranked #16.

I can attest to his ability at instructing juniors, as my oldest boy Aiden attended a few of his Little Linksters sessions. Brendon showed amazing patience whilst dealing with a bunch of 3-4 year old students and he explained the basics of the golf swing to the kids in a simple and easy to understand manner.

“This award means a great deal to what we are attempting to do with Little Linksters on a big scale,” Elliott said. “We are looking to launch a national program in which PGA and LPGA professionals can follow our blueprint.”

In 2010, he took the Little Linksters program to a whole new level, partnering with the Littlest Golfer and redesigning the program whilst maintaining the basics that have made the program such a success. The program is now setup to expand nationwide.

Presently, Little Linksters is putting on the Best Pee-Wee Golf Swing in America Contest where parents and instructors are encouraged to submit a video of their juniors best golf swing. The contest runs until January 15th, 2011 with the winner being announced at this years PGA Merchandise Show.

Brendon is Head Golf Pro out at Winter Park Country Club, so if you happen to be at the course, give him a pat on the back and a bit of thanks for the work he’s doing to grow game for future generations!
