It really broke my heart watching the 2010 Ryder Cup today. I had high hopes that we would perform similar to how they performed Friday after the rain delay and come out (excuse the stereotypical expression.. ) “with guns a blazin.”
But, alas, Session three ended with USA scoring a measly 1/2 point out of six, bringing the total scores for the match to USA with 6 1/2 and Europe 9 1/2. The lads in blue, stopped our momentum dead and stole our decent lead and turned it into pretty much an insurmountable deficit for the US.
I don’t think they’re playing particularly spectacular golf, we’re just not playing to our fullest potential. Our number one pain point has been our putting. Just how many putts can we leave short?? Gah, it’s frustrating when we’re beating ourselves..
Also, heard the announcers discussing Monty’s cheap tactic of changing the display boards to show less action and more live scoring to try and get into the US teams heads.. They also mentioned that there was a delay when posting up whenever the US scored a win, they said that the European scores were updated instantly but the USA scores took a couple minutes to update. Dirty tactics if you ask me and honestly, I don’t think Monty should be allowed to make those changes without mutual captain’s consent.
Our boys have a huge deficit to make up tomorrow. Let’s hope our 2010 Ryder Cup US Coach Corey Pavin can stoke some flames from the embers of the teams spirit. Atleast we’ve got sturdy rain gear now.. 🙂
