Shingle Creek Golf Club To Host The First Annual FBA & Family Golf Classic to Benefit Orange County High School and Middle School Bands

ORLANDO (Feb. 18, 2010) – The District 8 Florida Bandmasters Association (FBA) has partnered with the Marks Foundation, Inc. and 1st Class Tournaments, LLC to bring you the First Annual “FBA & Family Golf Classic”. FBA is a non-profit organization in support of school band programs in the state of Florida. Its membership is made up of band directors and band supporters in Florida and throughout the country. Proceeds from the golf tournament will help to reduce assessment fees that middle school and high school student/parents must pay in order to participate in the 7 annual music performance assessments.
This event will be held this year at the highly-acclaimed Shingle Creek Golf Club on Sat., May 1st (Tournament “A”) and May 15th (Tournament “B”). The Tournament begins with a warm-up on the driving range from 12:30 – 1:45. Registration begins at 12:30 p.m. on both days. The Classic then tees off at 2 p.m. with a shotgun start. Following completion of the round, there will be an awards dinner from approx. 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
“This will be a sensational day of golf and a magnificent day of fund-raising,” says Dave Scott, Director of Golf at Shingle Creek Golf Club. “We are honored to host this prestigious event and recognize the benefits it provides to those High School and Middle Bands that are associated with it.”
Individual and Foursome Packages are still available. The Individual Player Package, which costs $98.75, includes a goody bag full of brand name products, one Driver’s Club Membership, one admission to the awards banquet dinner. The Foursome Package, which costs $395, includes the same components as the Individual Player Package, but for four people. A maximum of 144 players will tee it up on both days.
