Orlando Golf Course Review – Victoria Hills

I had the opportunity to play Victoria Hills Golf Club recently and the review I wrote is now posted up on FloridaGolf.com.

Orlando Golf Course Review – Victoria Hills Golf Club

I really enjoyed this course and I think it’s one of the most underrated courses in the area. I like how it flows through the natural terrain and the serene feel of the place. If you’re looking for a meditative round, I recommend checking them out.

They’ve got some great facilities too, nice clubhouse and a funky meatloaf panini that was terrific.

If you’ve played the course, I’d be interested in hearing your thoughts on it.

9/2/09 – UPDATE: I just received an email from the GM out at Victoria Hills, the first 10 folks who refer to this review when they go to play will receive a free small bucket of range balls. It’s a little incentive to go check out one of the most underrated courses in the area 🙂

If you liked this one, feel free to check out my other Orlando golf course reviews and if you’re looking to play, here’s a selection of discount tee times.

My 8 iron fell 10 yards short, not 10 feet short! =)

Good review Dave. I have played Victoria Hills many times in both casual and tournament conditions, and it’s a great track, provided you play smart off the tee. It’s not the type of course that you can just mindlessly bomb it off the tee. Ron Garl always puts a premium on placement over length. The course to me has the same feel as those courses in the sand hills of North Carolina, with the layout using the natural flow of the land and placing bunkers in a way that makes them look like they have always been there.

I highly recommend the course, it’s a must play if you are in Central Florida!

Enjoyed your review of Victoria Hills. Love the course. Agree with John Duval’s comment. Victoria Hills does remind me of the NC Sandhills. Agreat threesome in Orlando area (if not the best) is Victoria Hills and the relatively nearby Deltona Club and Sugarloaf Mountain. Play those three and you won’t think you are in Orlando.
