Welcome to 2009 baaabie!
As I sit here nursing a pretty sizable hangover I can’t help but feel like I’ve started this year off on a bad foot. :) It’s a pretty strange custom we’ve adopted here, we focus more on the going out of the last year and don’t consider how our first day of the new year will be…..
Eh, but I digress.

As is customary, I’ve worked out my goals for 2009. Some might call them “New Year’s Resolutions” but it’s been my experience that mostly those are made halfheartedly and rarely survive the first week of the new year. :) These might end up the same, but at least I can say I took a different approach.
I’m planning on slimming down to 175, presently the champ is weighing in at a saucy 197. Being six foot helps (somewhat) in hiding the mass but not completely.. :) I considered posting up a picture of my naked belly for all the world to see as a sort of lunatic approach to motivating myself, but be thankful my wife talked me out of it! :) The biggest change I’m planning on making, is to cut soda or pop or cola, whichever you prefer, out of my diet. I’ve heard folks dropping 10 pounds easy just by doing this.
I’m also going to greatly improve my golf game. I’ll post more on that once the details are finalized, but I think it’ll be a great series of posts.
I’m also planning on increasing the blogs readership, I’m shooting for 5,000 unique visitors per month by the end of the year. I think it’s achieveable and I’m open to any suggestions you guys might have.
I’m learning Japanese and my goal is to be conversational by the end of the year. I wanted to say fluent, but that seems a little unrealistic.
The last is to finally reach the end of my honey-do list. I don’t know if that’s even possible, but I’m going to make a concerted effort, well, as long as it doesn’t interfere with golf…. priorities after all…..

Happy new year! I’m hoping to also improve my golf game. It was pretty inconsistent this year. I’m going to start off by buying some new irons. My TA-5’s are old and it’s time to buy something new. Looking at the Mizuno MP-62’s. I hit them at the store yesterday and they felt great.
Mizuno MP-62’s eh? Hrmm.. Have to take a look at those. You know.. this year might be a good year to upgrade my sticks as well… Have to think about that

I bought a putter a couple of days ago. Hope it makes an impact on my putting. It’s the putter that I love to hit everytime I am in the store.
I’ve found the new clubs for 300-400 cheaper on ebay and on some forums. I’m just trying to find the shaft that I like best.
Same one you hit when we were in GolfSmith? I’ve been scanning ebay, checking out some new clubs, I still have some hesitation about buying clubs there though.
